Agency & Casting Support
Agency onboarding, representation setup and optional audition preparation support for current FilmLab students.
FilmLab Academy may assist current students with agency onboarding, casting platform setup, profile readiness and suitable casting opportunities where appropriate.
To begin FilmLab’s agency representation and submission pathway, students must complete Agency Onboarding, the required documents, and the required casting platform setup.
Students do not need to subscribe to Casting Support to be represented or submitted for suitable roles.
As part of Agency Representation, the student/parent agrees to maintain active, accurate and usable profiles on the key casting platforms required by FilmLab, including Altai, Showcast and Casting Networks. Any future platform requirements will be discussed with the student/parent before any new paid platform setup is required.
The Casting Support Subscription is an optional monthly add-on for students who want extra audition preparation, self-tape feedback, movement notes, wardrobe/slate guidance and casting material support.
Neither Agency Onboarding nor Casting Support guarantees submissions, auditions, callbacks, roles, paid work or casting outcomes. Casting decisions are made by producers, casting directors and production companies.
Choose Your Path
Current FilmLab students may be considered for suitable casting opportunities in two ways.
1. Forward-Only Consideration
For represented FilmLab students who have completed Agency Onboarding but do not subscribe to Casting Support.
Forward-Only Consideration is for students who already have complete, ready-to-submit materials and do not require audition preparation support.
This pathway does not include Casting Support services such as self-tape feedback, audition preparation notes, wardrobe/makeup/slate guidance, chasing missing materials, correcting links, editing, uploading, priority communication or active audition support.
Students using this pathway must provide complete materials correctly and on time.
2. Agency Representation Pathway
For students who want FilmLab to provide agency representation, platform setup support and suitable submission opportunities where appropriate.
To begin this pathway, students must complete:
Agency Onboarding
A one-time setup and administration step for agency onboarding, platform setup support, document processing, profile checks and compliance records.
Required Casting Platforms
Students signing with FilmLab for agency representation must maintain active, accurate and usable profiles on the key casting platforms required by FilmLab, including Altai, Showcast and Casting Networks. These platforms allow FilmLab to practically submit students through agency channels where suitable.
Required Documents
Students or parents/guardians must complete the required acknowledgement and representation documents before FilmLab provides agency representation, casting support or submission services.
Optional Casting Support Subscription
Students who want extra audition preparation and casting material support may also activate the monthly Casting Support Subscription.
What Casting Support May Include
Casting Support may include:
• self-tape feedback for up to 3 takes per audition
• wardrobe, makeup and slate guidance
• physical movement guidance based on the script or sides
• support with casting profile presentation
• guidance around headshots, reels, measurements, credits and submission materials
• showcase listing while enrolled and in good standing, where suitable
Important Notes
Neither pathway guarantees submissions, auditions, callbacks, roles, paid work or casting outcomes.
Casting decisions are made by producers, casting directors and production companies.
Before FilmLab provides agency, casting support or submission services, students or parents/guardians may be required to complete the required acknowledgement process and receive the relevant Information Statement for Work Seekers, Models and Performers.
Any third-party casting platform fees, upgrades or paid features are separate from FilmLab’s onboarding fee and Casting Support Subscription.
Commission on Paid Work
If a student has an external agent, FilmLab charges 0% commission.
If the student does not have an external agent, and FilmLab is the submitting agency for a paid booking, FilmLab may charge up to 10% commission on that paid booking, where permitted.
FilmLab does not charge commission on unpaid roles, and no double commission applies.
