ENROLMENTS

Enrolments for classes are not accepted without payment.

ACCREDITATION

FilmLab's courses are currently not accredited.

While our subjects are currently non-accredited courses, there are many advantages to studying a non-accredited course, which can build your knowledge and skillset, with less cost, and learning in short periods of time.

REFUNDS

0% cancellation fee if the cancellation is made more than 4 weeks before your first term's class commences.
25% cancellation fee if cancellation is made less than 4 weeks, but more than 1 week before your first term's class commences.
50% cancellation fee is cancellation is made within 1 week of class commencing.
100% cancellation fee if cancellation is made within 2 days of class commencing.

ILLNESS / HOLIDAYS

In the event that you advise us ahead of time of illnesses, we are able to offer you a makeup session in another one of our classes, or if those do not end up working, a credit in a future term enrolment

When enrolling, please do advise us if you have a planned holiday or clash in the upcoming term, and we will take this into account for your term fees. We do ask to keep these to a minimum.

NOTICE OF FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

When you enter a FILMLAB ACADEMY event, class, or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.

By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by FILMLAB and its affiliates and representatives.

Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar FILMLAB events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of FILMLAB. You release FILMLAB, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings.

By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by FILMLAB or the person or entity designated to do so by FILMLAB.

You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release

OTHER CONDITIONS

FilmLab reserves the right to refuse admission to a class to anyone who poses a disciplinary problem to our teachers/staff.

FilmLab reserves the right to cancel classes if they do not obtain a sustainable number of enrolments for a class. This is unlikely, but if this happens, you will be provided with alternatives or a full refund should this be the case.

FilmLab classes are not interchangeable if a class is missed due to the student’s inability to attend.

The inability of a student to attend his/her class during term time does not constitute a reason for re-imbursement of fees.

Having said this, if we are advised of this at least 2 weeks ahead of time of a planned absence (such as planned holidays), we can offer alternative subjects for classes that are known to be unavailable to attend, in the term, provided that space is available, or we can look to shift credit to a future term's enrolment. Our learning is throughout the whole year, and while missing a few classes in a term is not ideal, it is not a large impact on the learning overall. This can be discussed with us directly and will be handled on a case by case basis.

FilmLab does not accept responsibility for personal property left at a venue.

It is the responsibility of a parent/guardian/carer to collect students promptly at the end of each class.

While FilmLab endeavours to ensure availability of teachers, we reserve the right to make last minute teacher substitutions.

While FilmLab endeavours to ensure consistency of venues for classes, we reserve the right to make last minute changes to venues (with notification) to parents/guardians/carers.

Children enrolled in FilmLab classes and their parents or carers are required to consent to and comply with our Privacy Policy, Child Safe Policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct, Anti-Bullying Policy and any other policies or procedures as required from time to time.

Students enrolled in classes at FilmLab will be involved in activities where they may be photographed or filmed for purposes such as inclusion in FilmLab archives and for FilmLab marketing purposes. For further information about how FilmLab may use these photographs or recordings, see the FilmLab Privacy Policy.

Upon enrolment, parents/guardians/carers and students are asked to consent to such use. Parents, guardians or carers can on behalf of their child, and students on their own behalf, may advise FilmLab that they do not wish photos or films of the student being published by FilmLab as contemplated by the Privacy Policy.
